This Privacy Policy describes how Tamnet Systems ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application, Presencia (Package Name: com.rax.clockin), and associated services (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, or using Presencia, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Information You Provide

When you create an account or use Presencia as a teacher or school staff member, we may collect:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Account Password (encrypted and securely handled via our authentication provider)
  • School Affiliation / Organization Join Code

B. Location Data (Foreground GPS)

  • Permissions Used: ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.
  • Purpose and Scope: Presencia collects precise and coarse location data only in the foreground at the exact moment you perform an attendance action (tapping "Check In" or "Check Out").
  • No Background Tracking: Presencia never monitors, tracks, or collects your location in the background or when the app is closed.
  • Geofencing Verification: Your coordinates are solely evaluated against your designated school campus boundary to verify physical presence for attendance purposes. We do not sell or monetize location data.

C. Attendance and Device Metadata

  • Check-in and check-out timestamps.
  • Monotonic device clock indicators (used strictly for timestamp integrity verification and anti-spoofing).
  • Basic device information (operating system version, device model) for diagnostic and debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively for legitimate educational and organizational administrative functions:

  • To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
  • To record and calculate daily teacher attendance for your institution.
  • To verify that check-ins and check-outs occur within authorized school premises.
  • To maintain system reliability, security, and prevent fraudulent check-in activity.
  • To communicate critical service updates or respond to support requests.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party cloud infrastructure to operate Presencia:

  • Supabase: Provides managed authentication, token handling, and secure database hosting.
  • Vercel: Hosts backend API endpoints responsible for server-side geofencing and join-code validation.

These service providers only have access to your data to perform specific tasks on our behalf under strict confidentiality and security standards.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Tamnet Systems does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or location data to third parties or advertisers. We share information only:

  • With your school administration: To provide institutional attendance records and reports.
  • For legal compliance: If required by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulation.
  • To protect safety and security: In cases involving system abuse, fraud, or violation of our terms.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures, including HTTPS encryption in transit, strict Row-Level Security (RLS) database policies, and secure credential hashing to safeguard your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide services to your affiliated school. 7. Children's Privacy

Presencia is intended strictly for use by adult educators, teachers, and school administrative personnel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 depending on local jurisdiction).

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Tamnet Systems may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
